On Sunday, after returning from low altitude training in sunny Southend, I received the much anticipated email from Mike McHugo.
“We would like you to come back to Marrakech and cycle up to Ouka next year” .
I had an immediate flashback to the freezing fog, mild hypothermia, forgotten pedals, weeks of endless training in the English winter, cyclists wrapped in bubble wrap and not forgetting the sight of a Brompton rider overtaking a couple of Paragon riders.
And then signed up…
It was actually very good fun and it’s for a very good cause.
So, the tried and tested training regime starts Friday – minimal actual cycling, lots of pub based talk about cadence, seated v un seated, gels v natural food etc etc.
This year, I’m hoping to embed our Strava training page onto here so progress can be tracked.
